And Walton got himself intentionally ejected from the game in the
bottom of the 5th (run rule scenario) on an obvious strike, so he wouldn't have to congratulate TT after the game. And as you said the entire team stayed in the dugout at the end.

Except that it is our end goal at least according to our coach. He even has
practices or sessions where hitting home runs is all we try to do. He teaches a slight upper cut swing in order to get the ball in the air because that is the only way to get it out of the park. The problem is that if that is the way you swing every time you are more likely to pop up or routine fly it to the outfield if you don't barrel it up. Sometimes you must alter your swing based on the game situation which we saw the LSU hitters do time after time.

She was touching 69 on a few pitches but more about location and
some help behind the plate. Also the ability to throw the ball over the plate when needed. We also helped her immensly by swinging early and often essentially getting ourselves out for much of the game, evidenced by a 7 and 5 pitch 5th and 6th inning. We have to learn to make the pitcher work.

"Swinging hard" and let's "see what happens" is not a hitting strategy. If
you noticed the LSU hitters swing according to the situation. They shorten up and put the ball in play, they punch the ball through the infield. When all you do is swing hard every time, you get a lot of pop ups and fly outs and that is exactly what we are seeing. Also down 5 runs late you should be much more selective at the plate and maybe draw a walk or two.

Both announcers just went on and on about it. It never occurred to them
that her foot wasn't on the bag. I was yelling at the tv that she was off the bag. They should apologize to the umpires and the fans for their mistake.

Zoe hitting in the 7 spot takes the pressure off her and allows her to
swing more freely plus opposing pitchers tend to slack up to the 7-8-9 hitters. Also its nice to have a power bat anchoring the bottom of the order. I really like her bat in that spot.

As a huge sports fan I would consider your dad to have lived a "dream" life
It must have been interesting and fun for you as well through the years. Please accept my sincere condolenses to you, your family and all the friends who mourn his passing. He is now heavens gain. If I am not being too forward I would ask his name, as I would love to read some of his articles and more about him. If you would prefer not to say, I understand. I attended a Senators game as a kid in the 60's and followed all sports even though I wasn't a big Washington fan. I may have even read some of his articles from back then. Thanks for posting this.

She was responsible for 5 of our 15 outs. We need her to succeed but it
appears it is not happening and the 5 spot is too valuable to have her there at the moment. There is a lot of pressure batting in the 5 spot. My suggestion would be moving her to the 8 spot (less pressure) so that when she eventually does come out of her slump she will be a force at the back end of the batting order.

I wouldn't exactly say that they T'd off on her. She had two walks
sandwiched around a swinging bunt nubber that got beat out for a single to load the bases, followed by a seeing eye hit over the first base bag and into the right field corner for a bases clearing double. Then the rains came and a 2 hour delay.
